Abstract The carbonaceous macrofossils which belong to multicellular algae and were previously known from the younger (>570 Ma) Miaohe biota are found for first time in Lower Vendian (Middle Ediacaran, ~580 rocks of Ura Formation Patom Basin Siberia. include phytoleims unbranched ribbon-like thalli preserved on surfaces silty mudstones. Among fossils, species Liulingjitaenia alloplecta Jiuqunaoella simplicis identified. features their structure considered. vivo forms organisms colonies interpreted. It is shown that these organic a noticeable detritus-forming component Basin. macrophytes coexisted with Early Ediacaran microbiota composed common ecosystem paleobasin, formed shortly before Shuram event was significantly transformed after it.
